Junk Journal January

$50.00

In this playful, hands-on workshop, participants transform everyday odds and ends into a one-of-a-kind junk journal. Using vintage book pages, envelopes, maps, sheet music, paper bags, ephemera, fabric scraps, and lace, each person learns how to fold, stitch, and layer found materials into a textured, tuck-and-pocket-filled journal that tells their own story.

Participants will learn simple binding methods, creative ways to build pockets and flip-outs, and techniques for adding color, stamps, and handwritten touches. No art or bookbinding experience is needed, and there’s no “right” way to do it. Participants are encouraged to experiment, play, and let the materials guide them. Each person leaves with a finished handmade journal, ready to be filled with writing, sketches, memories, and keepsakes, along with plenty of ideas for continuing the practice at home.
